Which SAT II tests should you take?

Before you sign-up to take SAT II tests figure out if you need them.

  • Does one of the schools you are applying to require them? Many elite schools ask for SAT II scores. Read the admissions requirements of schools you are considering carefully.
  • Are you considering a specific department or program? Find out whether schools prefer to have subject test scores related to the program instead of in class grades. This is more common with foreign languages or competitive science programs.

Is an early decision or early action application right for you?

Many colleges and university have early application programs that allow students to send their college application early and get a decision from the school ahead of the main deadline from the school. There are three types of early applications:

Early Decision You enter into a binding contract and agree that you will attend the college if it accepts you. You can only apply to one college early and if accepted you withdraw all your applications to other schools.
